Istrian cuisine is a perfect blend of the sea and the land, of the Mediterranean and the Central European ways of life. Experience the harmony of flavours of the exquisite Istrian, Croatian and international cuisine in the restaurants of Laguna Poreč.

When you enter an Istrian tavern, you should know the order, and it goes like this: first you ask for an aperitif, the prosciutto and cheese follow afterwards, then comes the Istrian soup and in springtime you simply must try frittata with wild asparagus.

But, no hurry, we're just warming up for the real thing. Only now, we move to the main menu which can be either Mediterranean or continental. If you prefer seafood, you can choose from a wide selection of fish, crab and shellfish. Continental cuisine is represented by fuži with truffles, žgvacet (Istrian variant of stew), ombolo (smoked fillet), Istrian sausages...And finally, something sweet -  try the traditional pastries kroštule and fritule.
